projects: ASC-CSA 2014: CSA Process Videos
The Arts & Science Council’s CSA(Community Supported Arts) program is an exciting model of art support and distribution that supports artists in the creation and promotion of new work and establishes relationships with local collectors and patrons. Nine selected artists each received a commission to create 50 works of art for the program. Work from the nine selected artists where then be sold in the form of 50 “shares” to local art collectors and patrons. A “share” consists of one piece from each of the nine artists and will be delivered in 3 monthly allocations featuring the locally produced works during the "season." Shares are distributed at three unique, exclusive events that will provide opportunities for artists and patrons to further connect.
As one of the selected nine artist my contribution to the CSA program was Charlotte inspired ‘grauel-villages’. I created five unique digital finger paintings. Each image produced into ten acrylic panel prints. The paintings integrate visual elements from various parts of Charlotte scenery into my village series. In addition to the painting each share holder received a branded blueStudio USB drive with videos showing the painting process form start to finish. The videos feature original music by the band Maro.
