portfolio of work: Monochromatic: Grauelica

While my own personal battles in no way touch the intensity of the scene Picasso depicted, it was invigorating to allow his powerful shape and line-play to assault my standard representation of Grauel villages. I writhed in his overlapping forms. I melded his harsher angles and sharp twists into abodes and passage ways. The original monochromatic approach provided the excuse to keep my own palette limited. My image was painted on an iPad - a current conduit of communication, much like the newsprint Picasso incorporated. I output my image on vinyl and PVC both modern materials for telegraphing a message.
